The Sacramento Valley Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (SVIOA) serves the greater Sacramento Valley, Sierra Foothills, and Northern Nevada Sierra, including Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Carson (NV), Colusa, Douglas (NV), El Dorado, Inyo (NV), Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sutter, Stanislaus, Washoe (NV), Yolo, and Yuba counties.
​Overeaters Anonymous is a Fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength, and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.

There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology, or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues.

​Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.

TO THE NEWCOMER
New to OA? Attend our meeting specifically for newcomers on Sundays, 3:30 pm. How do I start? Please read "Our Invitation to You," browse our website and attend a Local Meeting. What ever your problem with food, OA welcomes you.   • ​​Recordings of speakers from all our Day in OA workshops are available to listen to any time you need a jump-start on your recovery.
  • Sacramento Valley Intergroup has created a special web page to provide a central repository of helpful information for SVIOA meetings considering changing their meeting formats from Zoom to face-to-face and/or hybrid here.
  • Are you nervous about sponsoring? Check out our step-by-step guide on how to sponsor: “Sponsorship: A Getting Started Guide.” And be sure to read the back section of that describes how 18 different local OA’s sponsor. Each one does it differently! (So there is no WRONG way to sponsor!). You can also find some great sponsoring tools and resources here: Sponsorship Resources.

PLEASE REMEMBER OUR 7TH TRADITION
OA is self-supporting through our own contributions. While telephone and virtual meetings may have few if any direct expenses, our 7th Tradition reminds us of the importance of supporting our Fellowship as a whole. Intergroup, Region 2, and the World Service Office needs our support to help carry the message to other compulsive overeaters. For further information about meetings and the 7th Tradition or to make a contribution, visit our Contribute page.
