Sacramento Valley Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous

What is Intergroup?

When several groups form in an area, they soon realize that they can better perform certain functions together rather than separately. So the groups may form an "Intergroup" that is directly responsible to the groups it serves. An Intergroup springs from a need to provide service for a number of local groups and help distribute information about Overeaters Anonymous (OA) to the local community.  Multiple ‘Intergroups’ make up ‘Regions’ and then the ‘Regions’ (10 in all) combine to make up the Overeaters Anonymous World Service.

The Sacramento Valley Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (SVIOA) is part of Region II. Region II serves California, Hawaii, Mexico and Northern Nevada.

The SVIOA serves approximately 42+ groups (local meetings) in the Greater Sacramento Valley, including Roseville, Rocklin, Davis, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Rio Linda, Natomas and West Sacramento. We also serve parts of San Joaquin County, the Northern California foothills, and Nevada City.

The typical makeup of the monthly Intergroup meeting consists of:
