Sacramento Valley Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous

Location: Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 9001 La Riviera Drive, Sacramento. Conducting: Mariel D.  Intergroup Chair. Minutes: Lori P., Intergroup Secretary.  33 in attendance.

We started at 7:00 PM. The meeting opened with the Serenity Prayer; Ian read the Twelve Traditions; Introductions were made; the minutes of last meeting were read and approved with one correction.

Board Reports

Chair:  Mariel D. 

·         Agenda – New business items:  None

·         Status of Lawsuit:  Mariel is attempting to connect with attorney; will report back next month.

Vice Chair: Carmen A.

·         Mailings went out.

Secretary:  Lori P.

·         Minutes from last meeting submitted.

Treasurer: Ian D.

·         Ian gave financial report for November.  Highlights are as follows:

Ψ       Theatre ad has been paid;

Ψ       Will post annual donations for 7th Tradition & legal fund in next month’s newsletter.

Region 2:  Pilar P. & Judy L.

·         Absent – no report.      

World Service:  Rosalie

·         Absent – no report.   

Webmaster: Katy H.

·         No report.       

New Business

·         None.

Continuing Business

·         Elections – Install new Board members – held over until later in meeting

·         January 2007 – OA Birthday party.  Motion was made by Nicole to advance $200 to Saturday night meeting hosting birthday party for decorations, literature, and speaker expenses; seconded by Michael.  Vote:  Yes=33; No=0; Abstentions=0.  Motion passed unanimously.

Committee Reports

v      Answer Phone Service:  Janet finally got old phone number removed; 2 months credit will be received. 

v      Bylaws Committee:  no report.

v      Designated Downloader:  Michael – no report.

v      Events: Sharon E. – Sharon thanked everyone for participating in 2006 Days in OA.  Libby announced OA Unity Day, February 24, 2007 in Roseville; flyers available for distribution at meetings.   

v      Group Growth:  Darlene – no report.

v      Literature:  Janice & Margaret – no report.  Volunteers still needed for literature position; Faith cannot do service; Rusty volunteered to take one position, but cannot store and transport the literature.  Still need one person to do that service position; please continue to announce at meetings.

v      Newsletter:  Ian – printer did not have newsletter ready; had to go to Kinko’s.  Will be looking for a new printer.  Copy of newsletter circulating to make changes to meetings and/or contacts. 

v      OA HOW:  Weedie – absent, no report. 

v      Public Information:  Tracie H. – absent, no report. 

v      Retreat:  Judy H. – absent, no report. 

v      Speaker List:  Harry – list is available for distribution to meeting secretaries; list should not be place in announcement folders; if anyone wants to volunteer to speak, you can still be added to the list.

v      12th Step Within: Mike Z. – no report.   

v      Young People:  Jennene – absent, no report. 

v      Media Coordinator:  Sylvia – both September and November Days in OA speakers have been recorded and are ready to go; another member is mass producing and will be available for sale in January; next step is to digitize speaker tapes and put downloadable files on website; if anyone has old tapes, please let Sylvia know as she would like to digitize them.  Melissa volunteered to do legal form to get speaker permissions; Ian recommended contacting R2 events person as they already have this procedure in place.
